The arrival of Windows 10 later this year can lead to a more comfortable, pleasant and wireless PC computing.
Some new features that make hardware handling easier are available, but not yet on Windows PCs, which still make up the majority of desktop and laptop machines. For example, the Apple MacBook and Google Chromebook Pixel have set the stage for USB Type C ports and associated reversible cables for use on Windows PCs later this year. Meanwhile, the new Windows Hello feature - which will allow users to unlock Windows 10 devices by recognizing faces, irises or fingerprints - can bring 3D cameras and more sensors to the PC.
New hardware can also push down the PC while increasing battery life, and the wireless features can free the PC from cable clutter. Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for existing Windows 7 and 8 users, but if you decide to get a new PC, you might want to look for some of these features:
USB Type C, and 3.1
Expect smaller USB Type-C ports to become mainstream on PCs around the time Windows 10 ships later this year. A multifaceted USB Type-C port will be refilled

laptops and connect PCs to monitors, external storage drives, printers, cameras and other peripherals. There is also excitement around Type-C cables, which have identical connectors at both ends. The PC will eventually also benefit from faster data transfer speeds than the USB 3.1 protocol, which can transfer data at 10Gbps (bits per second), double that of USB 3.0. But for now, USB Type-C ports on MacBooks and Chromebook Pixels transfer data at USB 3.0 speeds, even though desktop motherboards that support USB 3.1 have been shipped.

The first iteration of depth sensing cameras already exists on several tablets and PCs, and the next camera version, expected to be on a Windows 10 PC, will do a better job of recognizing objects, measuring distances and even taking selfies.
