The network cable technician applies specialized expertise in the design and installation of Wide Area Networks (WAN), Local Area Networks (LAN), and Cable TV.

They use an understanding of the different types of cables and how they work together to create a successful network.


They work in computer software companies, low voltage system integration companies, wire and cable companies, digital companies, IT services companies and so on.

A network cable technician’s job description includes assistance with the development and maintenance of network communications.

They use knowledge of LAN / WAN systems to help design internal and external networks, as well as test and evaluate network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.

They make stock network racks and appliances as required in network closets. They support the consumer technology group with all the moves for issues that may occur and require physical access such as running a new patch and resetting a patch.
