Product support engineers handle technical requests submitted by end users of a company product or system. Their main job is to troubleshoot and resolve bugs, and through their work they have to record information for later reports and provide updates to customers. When they are not troubleshooting, they help other engineers contribute to product development and process improvement. After a full-time schedule, product support engineers typically work in information technology or manufacturing.
When technical
problems arise with the output, production support engineers must act quickly
to analyze the available data and discover the root cause of the problem. They
can then develop a solution themselves or pass the problem on to other members
of the engineering team, while providing advanced updates to users.
